Amphitheatre

Lazienki Park (al.Ujazdowski entrance), Warsaw, Poland

This Greek inspired Amphitheatre is built on the side of the Lazienki Lake with water separating the stage from the auditorium. It was built between the years 1790 -1793 by Jan Chrystian Kamesetzer and the attic of the Amphitheatre is decorated with sixteen figures representing famous poets of the antiquities. Performances are still occasionally staged here and it provides a perfect setting on a summer evening, despite the occasional noise from passing swans and ducks.
