Cape Jaffa is the site of a well known lighthouse along a treacherous stretch of coast in the South East of South Australia known as the Limestone Coast. The red soils over a free draining base of limestone (hence the name) has proved to be ideal for the growing of wine grapes and the area has now been proclaimed as the Mount Benson wine district. The winery itself was built from rocks removed from the paddocks during planting of the vineyard. Whilst wines produced at Cape Jaffa include a much sought-after Sauvignon Blanc.
