Jim Thompson's House and MuseumRama I Road, 6 Soi Kasemsan 2,, (opposite the National Stadium), Bangkok, ThailandTel: +66 2 216 7368, 612 3744, 215 0122 • Web: Visit this site » This small but fine museum is the former home of the man who saved the Thai silk industry from collapse. Constructed from six different traditional teak houses, the walls were reassembled from the outside in. Inside you will find Jim Thompson's beautiful collection of art and artifacts from Thailand and Southeast Asia. The guided tours are extremely informative and the grounds have just had a new bar and exhibition area added. A must-see, especially when you consider all the mystery surrounding Thompson's disappearance.

“I go here every trip and I go often to Bangkok. It is peace and quiet amongst the chaos of Bangkok. Jim Thompson's history is fascinating and the thought of an American in Thailand working in the Thai Silk industry and living in this beautiful house full of history and antiques and on one of the canals (klungs) is a drawcard for me. The cafe has great food and drinks and the shop is full of wonderful gifts of the highest quality. It is a really lovely place to visit when you are feeling tired of the noise and crowds of this city. They have a guided tour though the english pronunciaton is variable. But there is doesn't seem to matter.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Popular Attractions in BangkokView all attractions in Bangkok
