The church's most outstanding feature is the lofty tower on the west-facing facade, topped by an elegant pinnacle. The three-storey building follows typically Gothic structural lines. Inside, the walls are decorated with frescoes, illustrating scenes from the Gospels and which were painted by Inmencamp. It was built during the last years of the 19th century, and was inaugurated in 1903. The adjoining convent was rebuilt after the terrible fire that swept through Santander in 1941. Mass is conducted at: 1:15p, 5:30p, 7:30p & 8:30p Mon-Sat; 10:30a, 11:30a, 12:30p, 1:30p, 5:30p, 7:30p & 8:30p on Sundays. Visits can be conducted during mass only.
