Festival Theatre (The)King William Road, Adelaide, AustraliaWeb: Visit this site » Opened in 1973 as part of the Adelaide Festival Centre, this fine 2,000-seat theatre is the largest proscenium-arch theatre in the city. Owing to the extensive stage area, many lavish productions are performed here prior to touring worldwide. A special feature of the theatre is the magnificent pipe organ, which was installed to celebrate the silver jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Occasionally the theatre conducts backstage tours. “Having just been to the ASO plays Pink Floyd and Swan Lake on ice both of which I enjoyed very much, I feel I need to point out that the audio for both shows was so loud that it ran into distortion at times and spoiled the experience for me. I do hope they fix the problem either human or hardware before Madam Butterfly.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Popular Attractions in AdelaideView all attractions in Adelaide
