Captain Phil & Mel's Bonefishing GuidesMcClean's Town, PO Box F-44840, Freeport, BahamasTel: 242 353 3023 • Web: Visit this site » Only a place as devoted to water activities as the Bahamas would offer an activity as specialized as hunting the exotic and elusive bonefish. However, as any local 'in the know' will tell you, sport fisherman often jump at the opportunity to go after this highly unusual fish, which populates the waters around McClean's Town. A half-day of bonefishing costs US$250, and includes transportation to and from Freeport. Captain Phil and Mel are experienced and enthusiastic guides, and will do their utmost to make sure no fisherman (or woman) walks away empty-handed. Call for booking anytime.

“I spent a couple days bone fishing with Howard through Phil and Mel's. I had never bonefishes before and did not have high expectations. It was amazing and Howard was an excellent guide. I caught more fish and larger fish than I had expected. He picked me up at my hotel promptly as agreed. We got into fish right away at the first spot he took us to and just about every one after that. Howard has the perfect mix of laid-back personality and intensity when it is time to fish. I highly recommend calling them if you are on Grand Bahamas. Ask for Howard. I talked to some other hotel guests that we shared the van with over to the launch and they said their guides through Phil & Meals were good as well. Howard had some flies that I used, but it is best to bring some supplies (bonefish leader, saltwater tippet, flies, etc.).”

“I fished with Captain Phil & Mel's guides for 4 days. It was unbelievable. We caught and released almost 80 bone fish up to 8 lbs. The guides even caught conch and lobster and had them prepared for us for lunch. You can't go wrong fishing with this group. They will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel.” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.Popular Attractions in FreeportView all attractions in Freeport
