It is of extreme ecological importance for the 160 species of wildlife, due to the increasing urbanisation of Brisbane. For the tourist there are hundreds of animals to see on the walking circuit, including wallabies, koalas, gliders, birds and rare frog species. After walking, there are two picnic areas with some recreational facilities available to have a rest and reflect on the Karawatha Forest experience.
