Originally built in the fourteenth century and moved to its present location after World War Two, the Nichiren affiliated Myomanji has superb views of Mount Hiei. A modern copy of the stupa at Bodh Gaya, the place of the historical Buddha's enlightenment, stands in the tranquil grounds of raked gravel with a fine seated Buddha image within. The admission fee to enter the temple and garden is 300 yen, however you can enter the premises for free.
