Palacio de Dar-al-Horra

Callejón de las Monjas, s/n, Granada, Spain
Tel: +34 958 223 527

Aixa, mother of Granada's last Moorish sultan, Boabdil, lived in this attractive royal palace. It's the last example of Nasrid architecture you can see, as it was built in the late 15th century. The pretty inner courtyard has a pool surrounded by the typical Nasrid-style gallery with a three-arched gateway supported by columns with cubic capitals. The living rooms have coffered ceilings and are decorated with religious inscriptions. After the Christians conquered the city it became part of the Santa Isabel la Real Convent. You'll find it in the Albayzin district, alongside the Murallas del Albayzin (Moorish defensive walls). Admission: free
