Marcahuasi
Huarochirí - km 83 de la Carretera Central, Lima, PeruMarcahuasi is a site of great importance in the esoteric world. It is a plateau measuring four square kilometers, filled with huge rocks that seem to have lives of their own. This place became a major site for esoteric tourism in the 1970s when researcher Daniel Ruzo suggested that its huge rocky formations - some measuring almost 25 meters high- were shaped in the form of animal and human figures, and were the work of a long-lost civilization. This is also a perfect place to observe the night sky and, if you wish, practice spiritual exercises. You will need to bring your own groceries and camping equipment when you travel here, because you will not find any accommodations or shops. The site is a three-kilometer walk from the town of San Pedro de Casta.
