This is the place to come for fabulous 16th-century religious buildings, they practically line this busy street. Start from Plaza del Triunfo and head south to the spectacular baroque Iglesia de San Juan de Dios and its adjacent Hospital San Juan de Dios. Carry on down to Monasterio-Iglesia de San Jeronimo where you'll find the tombs of Gonzalo Fernandez de Cordoba, better-known as the Gran Capitan, and his wife. Carlos V's 16th-century university square stands opposite and houses the 17th-century Jesuit college that became the main university building.
