To your right as you go up Avenida Baralt, just before the Pantheon, you will see the present seat of the country's highest legal authority, the High Court of Justice ("Tribunal Supremo de Justicia", formerly known as the "Corte Suprema de Justicia"), whose magistrates are appointed by the Legislature. The wide, tree-lined, tiered approach allows you to appreciate the building as a whole. Inside there are three courtrooms specializing in different fields. The huge window by Alirio Palacios is a special feature. Guided tours are available on request.
