This castle is a Georgian mansion built in 1820 by the legendary buccaneer, Samuel Hall Lord. Located six miles from Grantly Adams Airport on 72 acres of tropical splendor, the Castle contains priceless antiques, paintings, silver and china. There are still some of the original possessions of Sam Lord which he plundered from unsuspecting ships. Sam Lord's Castle is now an all-inclusive hotel. The property includes eight suites/parlors and nine Castle Rooms, in addition to 221 guestrooms in the hotel portion.

“The castle appears to have suffered a fire a few years back. Although all the local maps list it as an attraction, it was closed. The tennis courts were covered with mud and the sign out from is dilapidated. It was a nice resort, but is no longer worth the drive. It is a short hop from the Crane Hotel, but there is nothing there!”
