Great Sights Great Ocean Road Explorer tour184 Swanston Street, Melbourne Day Tour Centre, Melbourne, AustraliaTel: +61 (0)3 9639 2211 (24 hour reservations) • Web: Visit this site » The Great Ocean Road with its magnificent surf beaches, rainforest and rolling farmland is a favourite holiday destination for Melburnians. This tour travels through central Melbourne over the Westgate Bridge and through Victoria's second-largest city, Geelong, before entering the famous coast Road. It twists and turns its way past landmark towns such as Bells Beach (home of the surf championships), Anglesea, Lorne and Apollo Bay. The highlight of the trip for many is the sight of the famous Twelve Apostles in Port Campbell National Park. Wind and waves lashing the sandstone cliffs have created these and other rock formations all along this coast, which has also seen several shipwrecks.

“We landed in Melbourne and went straight down the GOR. It was the coolest road trip. We stopped in Gee long, a cute town with a nice waterfront, but the best thing was staying at the gorgeous Haymarket Boutique Hotel and eating yummy pizza at Hey Leroy. We stopped at Torque, where we bought heaps of surf clothes and visited little cafes and shops until we got to Lorne. Great vibe in the cafes and street, everyone was chilled and it had a great beach where we spent most of our days, reading books and eating fish 'n' chips. We continued driving to the 12 apostles which was breathtaking, but the further you go, the towns do get quieter, which is fine, but not too many young people and less to do. I did love the Otways though, very lush and green and the Otway Fly was heaps of fun.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Popular Attractions in MelbourneView all attractions in Melbourne
