Monumento a Los Proceres20 calle Avenida La Reforma, entre las zonas 9, 10, 13 y 14, Guatemala City, GuatemalaErected by Rafael Perez de Leon in 1935, during General Jorge Ubico's government, in commemoration of a hundred years since the birth of Justo Rufino Barrios. It consists of an 18 meter-high obelisk, two series of steps for access, a stone badge of Guatemala and the Certificate of the Independence of Central America engraved on a bronze plate. Recently, the Altar of the Nation and a constantly burning flame of freedom were added to this monument.
