Balneario de Punta Hermosa

Panamericana Sur, km 41, Lima, Peru

This fairly traditional sea resort is home to various beaches, including Norte and La Isla. On its main promenade, there are seafood restaurants, hotels and nightclubs, the latter of which are very busy in the summer. Further away, at Kilometer 45, is the Punta Rocas beach, a so-called wave-making machine and an ideal place for surfers. National and international surfing championships are held here, where a large wave can reach five meters in height. Some rock concerts are held here as well.
