Casa de AliagaJirón de la Unión 224, Lima, PeruTel: +51 1 4247560 This is one of the oldest mansions in the city and it was occupied until 1535 by the descendants of the illustrious Aliaga family. It has large and luxurious rooms, which boast exceptional examples of colonial art. It also has a pretty interior courtyard which is typical of the period when it was built. There is only one way to visit it, and that is by registering at Lima's 'Turismo Dirigido' ('Organised Tourism'), for a cost of US$50 per person, which also includes a tour of several other closed old houses from Lima's historical centre which are not otherwise open to the public. It only opens at the request of previously registered tourists.
