Little Bay

Montserrat Port Authority, PO Box 383, Little Bay, Montserrat
Tel: 664 491 2791

At the north end of this once remote beach sits the island's only Port, which opened at the height of the volcanic activity in 1997, when the destruction of Plymouth rendered the Plymouth Port unusable. Since then it has evolved into a busy commercial area, catering to container loads of cargo, the twice-daily ferry service, local fishermen and occasional visiting yachts. Meantime the south end of the beach is a popular spot for sea bathing. You can sit on the beach and observe the ferry and other boats coming in and out of the port. Nearby the Good Life Restaurant overlooking the beach serves drinks and food.
