Iglesia de la Madre de Dios de JesusPlaza de la Iglesia, s/n, Ibiza, SpainTel: +34 971 312 773 Like most of Ibiza's churches, this one has a single nave. On the same spot where the church now stands, a community of Franciscans and, later, a community of Dominicans once lived. The church was begun in the 15th Century and finished in the 16th Century. Inside, you can see the crowning glory of Ibiza's religious works of art - the altarpiece by the painter Roderic d'Osona, dating from the 16th Century. This shows the Annunciation and other chapters from the life of the Virgen, in a series of paintings done in gold tones. There are no visiting times as such, but you can go inside the church during mass, which is usually held on Saturdays at 7p and on Sundays at noon and 7p.
