Alhondiga (La)
Alameda Rekalde, 56, Bilbao, SpainLa Alhondiga is one of the most typical and popular buildings in Bilbao. Built in 1906, by the architect, Ricardo Bastida, this singular structure was one of the first flat-roofed, reinforced concrete buildings in the city. The building, with a Catalan modernist influence, has a rectangular storey with chamfer and aligned interior naves, and was used for many years as a warehouse by many wine merchants. At present it's being built into a cultural and leisure centre.
