Built in the classic Spanish style and inaugurated in 1919, this bullfighting ring has a capacity of up to 12,000 spectators. A fondness for bullfighting is not widespread in Venezuela, but the history of the sport is deeply rooted in the country. Important bullfighters from yesteryear and the present have performed in the capital city's ring. Venezuela itself is the cradle of renown bullfighters, among which the Giron brothers stand out, with Cesar Giron being their most respected and remembered representative.
