The building was originally the home of Augustinian monks. Now a museum, it offers a wide collection of handicrafts from all over the country. The number of exhibits gives an idea of the diversity and richness of Colombian craftwork. The museum has a shop, which stocks a good selection of quality handicrafts at reasonable prices and a restaurant, Claustro de San Agustin, which is known for its traditional Colombian dishes, mostly from Bogota. The restaurant and shop are also open on Monday, when the museum is closed to the public.
