Le gallerie di Torino

Galleria San Federico, Galleria Subalpina, Galleria Umberto I, Turin, Italy

There are three main galleries. The largest and most important is surely the Galleria San Federico, in a distinctive T shape, which links Piazza San Carlo with Via Roma and Via Bertola. It is home to sumptuous shops and a cinema. The Galleria dell'Industria Subalpina is found on the south-east corner of Piazza Castello and links it to Piazza Carlo Alberto. Antique shops, book shops, a cinema and restaurants can all be found here. The Umberto I Gallery is perhaps less well known, but by no means less interesting. It links Piazza della Repubblica with Via della Basilica and it here that the oldest pharmacy in Turin is found.
