Plaza de la Conchita

Higuera y Vallarta, Coyoacán, Mexico City, Mexico
Tel: s/t

Formerly known as the Plaza de la Concepcion, this attractive little plaza is well worth a visit. At one corner you can see the Casa de la Malinche (or Casa Colorada), which was built by the conquistador Hernan Cortes for his Aztec interpreter cum lover: however, the building is not open to the general public. On the eastern side of the plaza is the Capilla de la Conchita (the Chapel of Conchita), a pretty little Baroque church that dates back to the 18th century.

  • Very beautiful.

“Beautiful little chapel, very picturesque with the surrounding trees. My boyfriend took me here when we went to visit his family. Now I dream of us being married here someday.”
