Monks of the San Franciscan order erected this church at the beginning of the 17th century. Its beautiful white facade stands out in contrast to the hustle and bustle of the modern Centro Internacional. Local peasants on their visits to the capital go to the church to worship at the carved statue of Nuestra Senora de los Campos. A part of the old Franciscan monastery has been converted into an interesting handicrafts shop and an excellent restaurant that serves traditional food.
