The small, beautiful church of Nuestra Senora de Las Aguas is situated on the way up to Cerro de Monserrate. It was built in the 17th century and has a chapel with a dome and central retable of adobe. It is also the proud possessor a famous painting by Antonio Acero de la Cruz, called La Virgen del Rosario. On your way out there is a picturesque colonial square with a fountain and a handicraft shop, which is worth a visit to appreciate the diverse and rich collection of Colombian craftwork.
