Recently refurbished, the ultra-modern main station contains over 20 shops (many of which are open late), five cafes and restaurants and a tourist information centre which provides visitors with free maps of the city. Numerous hotels (including the mid-range Intercity Hotel) are situated in the immediate vicinity of the station and Karlsplatz is little more that a five-minute walk away.
