King Gustav III founded this magnificent theater in 1788 for Swedish dramas to be performed in their original language. The building is a milestone in Swedish theater history. Please arrive on time: there is no admission once the performance has commenced. Guided tours are available, and these provide an interesting look at both the theater's history and daily routines.
