Bannockburn Heritage CentreGlasgow Road, Glasgow, United KingdomTel: +44 1786 812664 Bannockburn is the site where Robert the Bruce repelled King Edward II's army to establish Scotland's independence in 1314. The heritage centre is a good source of hard facts as well as the myths surrounding the battle. A large model of the Battle of Stirling Bridge and life sized figures of Bruce and Wallace are complemented by an audio visual display. Perhaps the highlight though, is the ghost-infested battlefield itself.
