Sharmanka Gallery and Workshop

Tel: +44 141 552 7080 Web: Visit this site »

This highly unusual gallery hosts "performances" by intricate kinetic metallic sculptures, created by Eduard Bersudsky, an artist from St Petersburg. The gallery's name, sharmanka, is Russian for barrel-organ. Hauntingly macabre theatrical shows are accompanied by music and atmospheric lighting to create an eerily and charming effect that few can forget. Admission for adults is GBP3; children under 16 are free. Advance booking by phone is essential. Special performances can be arranged with a minimum charge of GBP10.
