Clarendon Dock, filled with shiny apartments and expensive offices, is part of the Laganside redevelopment. But the past Clarendon Dock has been constructed over is still visible in places. The site was once a shipyard employing 30,000 people. Two engraving docks have been maintained, with plans to fill them with two old wooden sailing ships, making a stunning addition to the Belfast skyline. The spectacular Harbour Building is here, and the dock leads on to two wonderful pubs, the Rotterdam and Pat's Bar, both renowned for eclectic clientele and great traditional music. Even though most of the dock's buildings are private, benches have been placed near the engraving docks and beside the Lagan so you can absorb the panorama at your leisure.

  • Quiet and nice.
  • None so far. Just that the corporation sty. Is closed unit may 2009, if you do not drive; you need to walk to get into a bus.
