Belfast Public LibraryRoyal Avenue, Belfast, United KingdomTel: +44 28 9024 3233 This imposing building next to the Belfast Telegraph Newspapers offices on Royal Avenue is made of splendid red sandstone from Scotland and dates from 1890. It houses the central, multi-floored public library for the whole of the Greater Belfast area and is well worth visiting. There is a beautifully domed top floor where you can find Belfast's definitive reference section, as well as impressively stocked music and fine arts departments. The library is always open to visitors.
