Even though it is a private library, visitors are welcome to read books or newspapers, or to sit on one of the antique sofas that sprawl on every floor. There is an extensive genealogy section, the first port of call for anyone attempting to trace ancestors from Belfast, and a popular cafe. Admission is free.
