It would be difficult to imagine a more elegant setting for a gallery than this late Georgian mansion, set in the lush rolling parkland of Barnett's Demesne. Malone House was burned to the ground in 1976 but has since been fully restored; one of the new additions was this first floor gallery which houses many important local shows, including the annual Ulster Watercolour Society exhibition, held in early summer. All year round it's possible to view various group shows featuring traditional landscape and still life subjects, and recently the gallery has been roaming off the beaten track into, among others, exhibitions of creative textiles and collages.
