Claiming to be Europe's largest railway museum, the NRM exhibitions celebrate railways from the 1820's to present day. The recently opened new wing of the museum offers three galleries packed full of intriguing items from the national collection. There is even a replica of Stephenson's famous Rocket. In addition to a host of special events, A Day Out With Thomas and Friends is an annual celebration of the loveable children's character, Thomas the Train, and all of Thomas' friends. Admission to the museum is free; a charge may apply to special eventscall ahead for pricing.
