This is no ordinary museum, although it does have genuine Viking-Age artefacts and pottery, it sets out to improve the public's understanding of how archaeologists convert the evidence they find on digs into real knowledge of the past. This is a hands-on experience for all ages. Try your hand at sorting and dating authentic finds. Use modern computer technology to discover more about the archaeological research involved. You can even try out the ancient crafts for yourself. Primarily, this is a centre aimed at school groups but independent visitors are also welcome. Admission: #3.60 flat rate
