Hamburg's version of the London Dungeon is guaranteed to send shivers down your spine. The tour around the dungeons takes about two hours and features a gruesome elucidation of the darkest chapters of Hamburg's history. Visitors witness Vikings pillaging the city, the plague devastating its populace and the Great Fire destroying its buildings. The whole thing is perfectly staged and includes some marvellous special effects. Young children should be accompanied by adults. Admission: EUR 9; children EUR 5.50
