Aumuhle

Am Sachsenwald, Hamburg, Germany

There are many good reasons to take a trip to Aumuhle. Walking through this picturesque little town you will see several exclusive villas. You could visit Furst Bismarck's Museum and Mausoleum on the outskirts of town in the direction of Friedrichsruh, or you can take a nice long walk through the beautiful Saxonian Forest. There is also an attraction for trainspotters and railway fans. The Verein Verkehrsamateure und Museumsbahn e.V. maintains an open-air museum for historic trains behind the engine shed at Aumuhle station. Interesting old railway carriages are renovated for visitors here. The museum is open at weekends. You can call +49 40 65 31 87 5 for more information. It is worth noting that there is some exquisite gastronomy to be had around the lake in Aumuhle - not just for tired day-trippers.
