This grand Victorian building is situated next to the Liverpool Museum. Built in 1877 and extended in the 1930s, it holds a superb collection of paintings, sculpture and fine arts from the 14th-20th century. The gallery stages regular exhibitions, events, tours and family activities. The works include Rembrandt, Monet, Matisse and world famous collections by William Frederick Yeames and Rossetti. The spacious cafe offers light refreshments in relaxing surroundings. Prints and art postcards are available from the gift shop. Admission: adults #3.00, senior citizens and children free. Price includes unlimited access for 12 months to all Merseyside museums.
