St Michael's ChurchSt Michael's Church Road, Aigburth, Liverpool, United KingdomTel: +44 151 707 8330 This cast iron church was consecrated on Wednesday 21st June 1815, three days after the Battle of Waterloo. The unique structure is constructed of pre-fabricated cast iron sections and filled in with brickwork. Thomas Rickman and John Cragg, owner of the Mersey Iron Foundry, designed it following their first venture at St George's Church in Everton. An interesting feature used to be the Robbers Bell, situated outside the church. The bell would be rung to alert the local community of robbers in the area, but ironically no one must have been around when the bell itself was stolen.

“A delightful church, well worth a visit and surrounded by period houses built by john crag, founder of the church. The church is in the St. Michael¿s district of Liverpool, not aigburth. So take care not to follow the aigburth road signs as you'll soon get lost. The official Name is St Michael with St Andrew, toxteth park reflecting its true historical setting within toxteth, Liverpool.” Popular Attractions in LiverpoolView all attractions in Liverpool
