The permanent exhibition is made up of items excavated by German archeaologists between 1888 and 1939. The finds are of great importance as they form a comprehensive collection which offers an insight into over 8,000 years of Near Eastern history (4th century BC - 4th century AD). The museum's treasures include Persian and Assyrian memorials, reliefs, sculptures and smaller works of art. The highlight is the facade of a Babylonian royal palace from circa 580 BC. Admission costs EUR4, concessions EUR2.
