Alliierten-MuseumClayallee 135 (Dahlem), Zehlendorf, Berlin, GermanyTel: +49 30 818 19 90 • Web: Visit this site » It wasn't just food that the Allies airlifted into Berlin during the 1948/49 Russian blockade. Huge amounts of coal, petrol and even cars were flown in to help keep the strategically important Western outpost of Berlin intact. One of these huge four-engine planes now stands in front of the former Outpost Cinema along with a few pieces of the Wall and a French train carriage.
