Lissyvigeen CircleLissyvigeen, Killarney, IrelandTel: +353 64 31633 Dating back to the Beaker folk over 6,000 years ago, this stone circle was an open-air temple. The circle is made up of seven standing stones and two outliers. One outlier has Neolithic scribing on the back and side. Local legend claims that the stone circle is actually made from the petrified forms of two giants and their seven children. A Ross magician enchanted the family during a religious rite. It is believed that the stones come to life each May Day and can be seen dancing round and round in the centre, thus re-enacting their ancient spring ritual.
