Way the Fairies Went (The)South Square, (right of the Catholic Church), Killarney, IrelandTel: +353 64 45270 The Way the Fairies Went is a curious name for an equally unusual collection of sculptures. Scattered around the small village of Sneem are numerous pieces created in a wide variety of mediums and styles. Some commemorate particular people (Charles de Gaulle, President Cearbhaill O'Dalaigh, "Crusher" Casey wrestling champ), others are more abstract. Of particular interest is the dry-stone hut grouping located near the water. Well sited and individual, they offer fascinating exploration, both inside and out. The tourist office sells a small guide to the collection for 25p.
