It's the world's largest working theatre and the auditorium seats 2,300 people, and has been in use since 1663. Tours of the theatre are available every day - costumed guides take you through its history and the people associated with it - the latter include playwright Richard Sheridan, actress (and mistress) Nell Gywnne, and the clown Grimaldi. There are seats reserved for wheelchairs. All wheelchair users must contact customer services when booking.
