  • Leaving.
  • Really expensive and rude staff.

“Very expensive tourist trap. Nothing much to see about Jane Austen, it was more about the films. The staff was too busy gossiping to bother to serve you, it really seemed like a big shop. If you climb up the steps to the tea room on the second floor you will be greeted with rude staff, dirty tables and overpriced food.”

  • Lady on the door was lovely.
  • The cafe has rude staff and stale food.

“Going to the Jane Austen Center you need loads of money. The museum is expensive and staff seem bored and not interested at all to serve you. There is a short talk, which was interesting but we had children with us and they were bored. The actual museum has little content and the cafe upstairs was dirty (we had dirty cups left on the table) and were served stale scones. When we complained the staff looked bored and not concerned at all. Save your money for the pump rooms which is much more classier.”
