In earlier days people came here to trade goods in the popular trading house called 'handelsbeurs' in Flemish. Today we can only admire a reconstruction of the original building, which dates from 1531. The entrance is hidden at the back of a dark and narrow alley, just off the busy Meir and many people pass this splendid building every day when they go to work. It's currently used for various exhibitions and once a year, the Handelsbeurs is transformed into the venue for a fashion show with catwalk, light, music and models wearing the most original clothes ever seen.
