The Metropolis is by far the best place in Cologne for English speaking film-lovers. The films are nearly always shown in the original version, often not even sub-titled. The selection is varied, current and the picture and sound are good. The Metropolis also shows classic and new children's films during the day. A monthly brochure describing all the films in German and English is available. Every Thursday, admission costs only EUR4. Even the pre-recorded telephone information number is friendly, with a showtimes read in German and English.
