PratoriumKleine Budengasse, Innenstadt, Cologne, GermanyTel: +49 221 2212 304 Would you like to sit in comfort while a motorised ride takes you back to the time of Ancient Rome and to the former Roman governor's palace? In 1953, archaeologists uncovered the walls of the house in which the Roman consul once lived, underneath the foundations of the Spanish-style Rathaus. The inscriptions in the spacious Praetorium tell us that the consul's house was rebuilt around the year 200 BC. The masonry of the walls comes from four centuries.

“Very interesting but would have been better if we spoke German. We're going back now that we know what we're looking at a lot better to investigate all over again. If you like ancient history It's worth seeing.” Popular Attractions in CologneView all attractions in Cologne
