This famous church has many interesting historical connections. The Crusaders prayed here, as did soldiers bound for Crecy and Agincourt and the blackbearded Philip of Spain, who was on his way to marry Mary Tudor at Winchester. Many years ago this was also the place to be on New Year's Eve. Although a shell is all that remains of the church today, following the German blitz in 1940, it is still an engaging place to visit. It contains a very touching Titanic Memorial and look out for the pre-1760 Quarter Jacks, little men that strike the quarters of each hour on the clock.
